Texas Democratic Rep. Jasmine Crockett again called Trump and his supporters the domestic enemy, while Hillary Clinton, who lost the 2016 presidential election, said she wanted to jail people who spread “propaganda” – Trump supporters.
Crockett's second time calling Trump and his “Make America Great Again” movement a threat to the nation came on MSNBC just hours before Ryan Wesley Routh plotted to assassinate Trump at Trump's golf club in West Palm Beach, Florida.
The day after the second assassination attempt, Clinton attacked so-called propagandists in remarks that echoed her totalitarian suggestions that Trump supporters be “deprogrammed.”
Democrats seem unconcerned that their own vengeful, spiteful rhetoric may have led to an assassination attempt on President Trump.
Croquet Pot
Crockett, who represents part of Dallas, repeated his own lies that Trump supporters are dangerous enemies of the state. He also accused Trump supporters of making bomb threats and called them domestic terrorists.
Crockett told former Biden press secretary Jen Psaki on MSNBC about the incursion of Haitian Biden “migrants” in Springfield, Ohio, when she lied: “This city is going through hell because the guy who says he wants to be commander in chief is actually bringing that hell on them.”
Crockett continues:
Trump decided to spread a lie (about Haitians eating cats) on the national debate stage, and it is harming the American people. This is a problem. When I talk about MAGA, I talk about the fact that when I finally took the oath of office in January, I swore to defend ourselves against those who oppose us, whether at home or abroad. Right now, MAGA in general feels that they are a threat at home. And we are seeing that time and time again. …
The issue is not people coming into the country, it's this man and his associates making bomb threats all over the country, domestic terrorism is real and he is the man inciting it.
The comments were reminiscent of Crockett's hate speech in December.
“Now we know they continue to try to destroy us from within,” she said of Trump supporters.
When we took the oath, we swore to protect ourselves from enemies foreign and domestic, and as observers, especially those of us who are Democrats, it feels like we're always at war with domestic enemies.
Clinton: Charged with “propaganda”
In stoking hatred and violence against Trump, Clinton again falsely claimed that Russia interfered in the 2016 election to help Trump win — a central claim in the “Russia collusion hoax” that Clinton and her campaign's assassins engineered to thwart Trump's election and undermine his presidency.
But speaking of so-called interference, Clinton added something else: “Propaganda” – speech she doesn't like – must be prosecuted.
“But I believe there are Americans who are engaged in this kind of propaganda, and civil or even criminal prosecution of them would be a more deterrent because the chances of a Russian being tried in the United States are low, with very few exceptions,” she said.
Speaking again the day after the second assassination attempt on Trump, Clinton said the former president wanted to be a “dictator”.
Clinton's latest comments are a departure from the crazy comments she made in October to Trump-hating CNN commentator Christiane Amanpour.
“In the past, there were very strong factions in both parties and very bitter fights on everything,” Clinton told Amanpour, “but there was never this little tail of extremism wagging the Republican dog like there is today.”
She said Trump supporters were extremists who needed thorough brainwashing by the Democratic Party.
And the sad thing is, a lot of these extremists, MAGA extremists, take their instructions from Donald Trump, who has no credibility whatsoever. Trump is only looking out for his own interests. Trump is now defending himself with civil lawsuits and criminal lawsuits. When are they going to break with Trump?
Because at some point, there may need to be a formal deprogramming of the cultists, but something has to happen.
“Something needs to happen…”
That's what Paula Collins, Republican opponent of Rep. Elise Stefanik, said during an online town hall meeting in June.
“Even if there is an overwhelming wave of Democratic support, as many of us would like, we would get through this MAGA nightmare and basically put everything back together and re-educate, which sounds more like a re-education camp,” Collins said. “We don't really want to call it that,” she continued. “I'm sure there's another way to say it.”
More Trump-hating rhetoric
After Routh plotted to assassinate Trump, the campaign compiled statements from other Democratic officials who may have influenced the convicted felon, most notably those of President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris.
Biden called Trump an “existential threat” and a “real threat” to the country and democracy.
“Trump is a threat to our democracy and fundamental freedoms,” Harris said.
Rep. Dan Goldman of New York said Trump “must be removed.”
And to show how seriously Democrats are taking the threats to President Trump's life, Rachel Vindman, wife of impeachment hoax author Alexander Vindman, posted a comment on X that she was forced to delete. “No one has hurt their ears. Have a good Sunday afternoon,” she wrote.
