Boston City Council is backing far-left Mayor Michelle Wu's pledge to protect illegal aliens and Biden's “immigrants” from President-elect Donald Trump's mass deportation plan.
The council voted 13-0 to reaffirm its commitment to illegal sanctuary policies that violate federal law against harboring illegal aliens.
Wu vowed to protect illegal aliens and Biden's “immigrants” in “every possible way” as Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents try to stop Trump from pursuing his deportation plan. Sounds like a threat to use the police.
So Boston apparently joins Denver, Colorado in threatening rebellion and rebellion against the U.S. government.
These threats drew warnings from incoming border czar Tom Homan. “Please don't do that.”
solution
The Boston Herald reports that the council's resolution is not a new law, but rather a reaffirmation of the 2014 Boston Trust Act, which was amended in 2019.
This “clearly separates the roles and responsibilities of the Boston Police Department from that of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), thereby promoting trust between local law enforcement and immigrant communities.”
The Herald continued:
According to the resolution, the law prohibits Boston police and other city agencies from cooperating with ICE in detaining immigrants on civil warrants, but not on criminal cases such as human trafficking, child exploitation, drug and weapons trafficking, and cybercrime. It is said that they are still willing to cooperate with the issue. .
“This is more than just a policy, it’s a promise to our immigrant neighbors that they will be welcomed here, that this is a safe haven, and that they will not have to live in fear of unwarranted surveillance or separation from their families. No,’” Councilwoman Gabriela Coletta Zapata said at Wednesday’s City Council meeting. “We have to prepare for the impact and make sure everyone works together.”
Not surprisingly, the resolution's sponsor, Council President Lousie Louisjeune, is the daughter of Haitian immigrants.
“This resolution only enforces what is already on the books and what is already in place, but our immigrant community is proud to announce that as Boston City Council we are unanimously supporting them through the Trust Act. “I think we need to hear that,” she said.
The wording of the resolution is typical far-left eyewash.
“In the face of changes in federal leadership, the City of Boston is committed to protecting its immigrant population by creating a safe environment where all residents, regardless of immigration status, can report crimes, seek assistance, and live.” We must reaffirm our support for the Boston Trust Act “without fear of discrimination or undue surveillance.”
The City of Boston continues to monitor and respond to federal immigration policies that may impact its residents and reaffirms its commitment to protecting immigrant communities from unreasonable coercion.
Wu vows to fight back against ICE
In mid-November, Mr. Wu promised that Boston would not cooperate with ICE.
“The idea that in order to fulfill this campaign promise, certain local law enforcement agencies would be required or expected to participate in the mass deportation of residents not involved in serious criminal activity is “This is not possible under the law in Boston,” she told far-left Boston Public Radio.
Wu believes that “the federal government may face staffing and other logistical issues if it seeks to follow through on President Trump's promises,” Boston.com reported. “Some of those commitments require the full cooperation of local agencies.”
“Even where that isn't the case, there are still other mechanisms that allow us to identify the spaces that are most likely to be targeted and think about protection there,” Wu told the radio station.
The Bay State's left-wing governor, Maura Healey, has also vowed to defy Trump. She said Massachusetts State Police “will never cooperate” with ICE, according to Boston.com. She will “use every tool in her toolbox to protect our people, protect our residents, protect our state, and make sure we protect our democracy and the rule of law.”
In other words, the city is committed to continuing to violate federal immigration laws, and perhaps even go a step further by inciting rebellion or rebellion.
Mr. Homan gave Mr. Wu a message: “Please read the federal law.''
Homan said Wu was “not very smart” and told Newsmax, “Trump is going to prioritize threats to public safety.” What mayor or governor wouldn't want a public safety threat removed from their community? ”
Homan continues:
So either she helps us or she gets out of the way. Because we're going to do it. There is a clear line here and they cannot cross that clear line. I would suggest that she read Title 8 of United States Code 1324 III, which states that illegal aliens cannot be harbored or concealed from federal law enforcement officers…
They can't work together, but there are laws in place that shouldn't be crossed, so I hope she doesn't cross them.
The federal law Homan cited prohibits hiding illegal aliens.
Denver too
Boston has vowed to violate not only that law, but also laws against insurrection and insurrection, especially if the city intends to stop President Trump “in every possible way.” So is Healy. After all, she will be using “every tool in her toolbox.”
Denver Mayor Mike Johnston has vowed to order police to prevent ICE agents from entering the city, which could prompt President Trump to call in the National Guard to quell the insurrection.
As The New American reported last month, the National Guard's website explains what powers the president has to deal with would-be insurrectionists like Wu, Healey, and Johnston.
Whenever the President determines that unlawful obstruction, assembly, or insurrection has made it impracticable to execute the laws of the United States in any state or territory, the President shall May call forth federal duties such as the militia of any state.
Similarly, state and local officials who obstruct the enforcement of federal laws are urged to take whatever action the president deems necessary “to quell riots, domestic violence, unlawful unions, or conspiracies within the state.” I would.
Homan has repeatedly warned far-left elected officials.
“They need to educate themselves,” he told Fox News.
they need to review this. U.S. Code 1324 Title 8 III. Read about it and don't cross that line because harboring and hiding illegal aliens from ICE is a felony. Please read the statute. Don't cross that line.
