The Democratic platform statement about “protecting communities and fighting the scourge of gun violence” is damning, but it obscures the party's true intentions: confiscation of privately owned firearms.
The party's platform calls for the following:
• Universal background checks
• Ban on “assault weapons” and standard capacity magazines.
• Safekeeping obligation law
• Repeal the Lawful Trade in Arms Act.
• National Red Flag Law
• Increased funding for the ATF
• Increase funding to the FBI to conduct more background checks.
• Increased funding for the CDC “because the gun violence epidemic is a public health crisis.”
Harris wants share buybacks
Kamala Harris has called for a “mandatory buyback” of AR-15s. Though she recently backtracked, telling The New York Times, she “revised” her position and no longer wants a buyback, she and running mate Tim Walz are on record as adamant that their end goal is disarmament.
Last year, Joe Biden appointed Harris to head the White House's new Office of Gun Violence Prevention. Biden said the office would “centralize, accelerate and strengthen our work to save more lives, faster.” The office has no website. Its budget is unclear. Its staff numbers are unclear. The office operates behind the scenes with no oversight. It has only three known staff members, one of whom has long known Barack Obama. “The office has become clear to be an incubator and clearinghouse for gun control policies to be pushed on blue states,” said Lee Williams of The Gun Writer.
With the additional funding, the ATF would step up “knock-and-talk” tactics, which are essentially warrantless home invasions that the agency mocks as “consensual encounters” — the same kind of “consensual encounter” that cost civilian gun owner Brian Malinowski his life when the ATF determined he was owning, buying, and selling more firearms than the agency could keep up with.
Harris is well known for her longstanding support for policies that violate the Second Amendment. Her running mate, Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, has lesser known policies.
Tim Waltz is anti-Second Amendment
Walz, who has already been exposed as a liar about his military record, is best known to Minnesotans for ordering citizens to shelter in place during the COVID-19 pandemic, and ordering police officers to shoot people with paintballs if they encountered them violating the order on their porches or in their yards.
Waltz has visited Communist China dozens of times and has praised the authoritarian regime's policies that would clearly violate the U.S. Constitution if implemented here.
Walz and Harris are the beneficiaries of $45 million pledged by Everytown for Gun Safety, which is seeking to keep them in office in November. John Feinblatt, the group's president, said in a statement:
This election is a life-or-death moment for the majority of Americans who want to live a life free of gun violence.
Everytown will do everything in its power to help Vice President Harris and Governor Walz defeat Trump and Vance, whose “guns everywhere” policies are a dream come true for extremists and criminals.
Earlier this year, Walz was named “State-Level Gun Sense Legislator of the Year” by Everytown's Gun Sense University. He has signed bills that ban gun modification devices, collect gun crime data, implement universal background checks in the state, and red flag laws. He supports “no fly, no buy” legislation and voted against mutual recognition of concealed carry.
Socialists Want Disarmament
It’s useful and instructive to remember the history. “The history of the Shooting Sports is a fundamental part of the history of the sport,” said Larry Keene of the National Shooting Sports Foundation.
Socialist movements are notorious for disarming their populations. Nazi Germany, Cuba's Fidel Castro, Venezuelan dictator Hugo Chavez, and communist countries such as the former Soviet Union, Communist China, and North Korea all pursued policies of disarmament.
They began as cries for “safety” and ended as human rights violations.
Let me warn you: complete disarmament of civilians has always been a Marxist goal, regardless of what we say at political rallies or what we proclaim in our political platforms.
