Tom Homan, former acting director of Immigration and Customs Enforcement, will be the Trump administration's border czar.
President-elect Donald Trump delivered the news on Truth Social.
Homan is known for advocating zero tolerance for illegal immigration and has frequently clashed with far-left, open-borders politicians.
Homan's main job will be to carry out President Trump's promise to carry out “the largest domestic deportation operation in American history.”
Close open border
Mr. Homan's portfolio is opaque. Trump also did not say whether he would become ICE director or join the Cabinet as secretary of homeland security.
But Trump made it clear that Homan is in charge of the border, from ocean to shining sea and from Mexico to Canada.
Homan “will be responsible for our nation's borders ('Border Czar'), including but not limited to the southern border, northern border, and all maritime and air security,” President Trump wrote.
I have known Tom for a long time and there is no one better at guarding and managing our borders than he is. Similarly, Tom Homan is responsible for all deportations of illegal aliens to their countries of origin. Congratulations, Tom. I have no doubt that he will do a great job that is long overdue.
That job includes deporting the millions of illegal aliens the Biden administration has released into the country, including hundreds of thousands of dangerous criminals, and in some cases Biden So-called immigrants allowed to enter the country illegally will also be deported, sometimes on direct flights.
There are no more pardons
Homan also plans to repeal the “quiet amnesty” that the Biden administration illegally created to keep millions of illegal aliens in the country. It would also end Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas' illegal deportation policy.
Homan, who has warned the illegal aliens released by Biden not to “get too comfortable,” is famous for educating not only far-left media executives who call for open borders, but also far-left pro-open-borders female congresswomen. .
“Is there a way to carry out mass deportations without separating families?” 60 Minutes correspondent Cecilia Vega recently asked Homan.
“Of course I do,” he answered. “Families could be deported together.”
At a Congressional hearing, he gave a lesson on the law to open-borders Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez of New York.
The AOC, known as AOC, told Homan that “zero tolerance” is a policy that has led to so-called family separation at the border, where children are separated from their parents to protect their safety.
Homan responded, “If you get arrested for driving under the influence and you have a young child in the car, you're going to be separated.” When he was a police officer in New York, he said he separated fathers from their families after arresting them for domestic violence charges.
Ocasio-Cortez responded: “With all due respect, legal asylum seekers are not subject to any charges.”
Homan: Entering the country illegally is a violation of 8 U.S.C. 1325.
Ocasio-Cortez: Applying for asylum is legal.
Homan: When you want to apply for asylum, you go to a port of entry and apply in a legal way. This was announced by the US Attorney General.
republican convention speech
Homan spoke at the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee in July and warned illegal aliens that they would face deportation.
“I've worked for six presidents, starting with President Ronald Reagan,” Homan said. “Every president I've ever worked for said they were going to secure the border. President Trump actually did that. He created the most secure border in our history, and that's It’s a stone cold fact.”
Homan said President Trump has reduced illegal immigration by 90%, “the lowest level in 35 years.” The number of deportations reached an all-time high, “including a historic number of illegal alien gang members and criminals.”
He noted that Biden has opened the border, halted deportations, canceled Remain in Mexico and reinstated catch-and-release.
“They proposed amnesty for millions of people along with free medical care,” Homan said. This has led to unprecedented numbers of illegal immigrants, record numbers of sex-trafficked women and children, deaths of Americans from fentanyl, and record numbers of terrorist suspects crossing our borders. He added that this led to
“This is not mismanagement,” he said. “This is not incompetence. This is by design…This is national suicide.”
He warned that the “madness” would end if Trump was elected president, ending with a message to the undocumented immigrants Biden had illegally released: “You better start packing now…you're going home. He concluded with a stern warning.
Homan continues:
I received another message. Another message to Mexican crime cartels. You (sold) enough fentanyl across this country to kill 148,000 young Americans. You have killed more Americans than all the terrorist organizations in the world combined. And at that time, President Trump will return to office, designate you as a terrorist organization, and intend to wipe you off the face of the earth. That's it! That's it!
Homan said Trump “will make America safe again. And we can take it to the bank.”
Homan recently warned sanctuary cities and states that illegal immigrants will be deported with or without assistance from state and local officials.
