The White House Office of Gun Violence Prevention (OGVP) unashamedly boasted about how much progress it has made in just one year to protect precious rights guaranteed by the U.S. Constitution. The report was released the same day the FBI reported a decline in gun violence.
Biden's decades-long fight against private firearm ownership culminated in the bipartisan Safe Communities Act of 2022. The bill only passed with the help of Republican supporters, which Biden used. The OGVP report included:
I've spent countless hours meeting with families who have lost loved ones to gun violence, and they all have the same simple message for our elected officials: Do something.
Of course, that is the watchword of the left: “do something,” even if it violates the Constitution.
The report continues:
Vice President Kamala Harris and I answered their call, signing the most significant gun control bill in 30 years and announcing dozens of executive actions to reduce gun violence.
But I knew we needed more, which is why I created the first-ever White House Office of Gun Violence Prevention, overseen by a Vice President.
In just one year, my Administration's work to reduce gun violence and save lives has accelerated.
Has gun violence decreased?
Conveniently, on the same day, the FBI reported a significant drop in violent crime in 2023. And Kamala Harris claimed that the OGVP, which she supposedly oversees (and which is actually run by left-leaning Biden supporters), is at least partially to blame.
In the year since President Biden asked me to oversee this office, our Administration has improved and expanded background checks, announced the largest investment in youth mental health in history, and been an unprecedented resource for states, cities, and communities.
We have also supported, convened, and worked with victims of gun violence, families of those who lost loved ones in shootings, and other affected individuals to address the trauma caused by gun violence.
The 13-page report highlights some of the unconstitutional actions already taken by this mysterious (with unknown funding and accountability) agency.
Expand gun background checks and make it clear that there is no “gun show loophole.” Expand background checks for individuals under 21. Enforce gun trafficking and dummy purchase laws. Keep guns out of the hands of “abusive” dating partners. Bribe states to enforce “red flag” laws. Stop the “threat” of ghost guns. Declare gun violence a “public health threat.” Bribe states with taxpayer money to pass laws to destroy gun trafficking “networks” and confiscate firearms from “domestic abusers.” “Support” states and cities willing to receive federal funding to set up their own gun violence prevention offices. “Support” state legislators to pass more gun control laws in line with the Democratic national policy. “Mobilize” artists and other public “influencers,” such as hip hop and entertainment industry executives, for gun control policy. “Mobilize” so-called “religious leaders” to support the policy. Then we “mobilize” educators to advance that agenda.
The report also praised the background check system for “helping to stop more than 4,600 gun sales to people convicted of misdemeanor domestic violence offenses.”
It's just the beginning
This is just the beginning of the attacks from the White House: On the same day these two reports were released, Biden said he would be issuing additional “brand new” executive orders for the OGVP to follow.
What's more, authorities only have four months left to take action against gun owners, said Director Stephanie Feldman.
What we're looking at is, what can we do in the next four months? President Biden, Vice President Harris have the next four months to do everything they can to save lives, and that's exactly what they're asking their offices to do.
There's a big difference between implementing something and actually deriving all the benefits possible from it. (emphasis added)
Every action taken and “victory” achieved in the name of gun safety violates Article I, Section 8 of the U.S. Constitution. Biden, Harris and Feldman know it.
