In a half-honest, half-dishonest and obviously delusional editorial, The Washington Post finally admitted that President Joe Biden’s cognitive and physical decline was evident during his June 27 debate with President Donald Trump.
However, the Washington Post also argued that Biden's decision to withdraw from the presidential race was “selfless,” even if his performance in the debate had led to him being written off by Democratic elites.
The paper also claimed that President Biden's administration was a “moderate” one that put gay perverts and mentally ill “trans women” into positions of power.
“Now they're confessing to us,” liberal law professor Johnsan Turley said of the Washington Post's confessions about Biden.
A “selfless decision”?
After Biden's crushing defeat in the debate, The Washington Post argued, “Mr. Biden made a reluctant but remarkably selfless decision: He dropped out of the ring. … Mr. Biden may privately resent the Democrats who helped remove him from the running this summer, but he denies it.”
But Biden's withdrawal from the race was more than “unwilling.” After Trump's crushing defeat of Biden on June 27, the Democratic Party's wealthy sabotaged Biden, and it seemed as if Biden had been dragged out of his retirement home workshop. In fact, these elites orchestrated the debate to sabotage their beloved Biden.
Maureen Dowd of The New York Times writes:
One after the other, Democrats who were close to Biden before they conspired to oust him had to confess to cable TV hosts that they couldn't talk to the president as he sulked in his tent.
Party leaders covered up the coup with ostentatious praise for Biden.
James Clyburn told CNN that Biden's record “cannot be matched by any president of the United States.” Pelosi suggested on CBS' “Sunday Morning” that Biden's face should be carved into Mount Rushmore. “You've got Teddy Roosevelt on there,” she said. “He's a great man. I'm not saying take him out, but you can put Biden on there.”
Joe, Jill and Hunter were neither fooled nor appeased by the excessive flattery.
Republican strategist Scott Jennings spoke about the incident during a CNN panel on the first day of the Democratic national election.
“He was booted out of this election after 52 years of service to the Democratic Party and they had to drag him out somehow,” he said. Democrats are “putting on a show,” he said.
The same goes for posts.
“Looking back…”
That aside, the Washington Post got one thing right, one thing the left-leaning, blindly pro-Biden media, who are as staunch supporters of Biden as his own advisers, never said.
“In retrospect, Biden should never have sought reelection,” the Post explained.
The June 27 debate wasn't just a bad night, as the president later claimed. The 81-year-old president had long been showing signs of decline, but his aides had tried to hide it.
So was Biden's Ministry of Mainstream Media Information.
It would be hard to find a bigger lie than the one in the Post's final paragraph.
Biden's most compelling promise in 2020 was to unite a divided nation. Before and since taking office, Biden has been at his most valuable in politics when he exemplified empathy, moderation and statesmanship, including in the most difficult decision he has faced in his decades-long political career: stepping down from office.
Instead of uniting the nation, the Biden Justice Department has denounced concerned parents who protested at School Committee meetings about insane left-wing policies as violent extremists.
Biden has insulted former President Donald Trump's supporters, appointed sexually inverted and mentally ill “transgender” people to key positions in the White House, and allowed millions of penniless, illiterate Third Worlders to invade our southwestern borders and then turn them free to rob, rape and murder Americans.
None of this suggests a desire for “unity” or “moderation.”
Turley's View
That aside, law professor Jonathan Turley analyzed the Post's tribute to X in a column.
“The Washington Post reports that 'The 81-year-old has long shown signs of decline, but his aides have tried to hide it,'” he wrote to X. “This is a rather odd and belated observation. The Post makes no obvious point.”
… First, Kamala Harris is part of that “inner circle,” something she has emphasized in her campaign, which means she has also covered up and publicly denied Harris’ decline. …
… Second, many have written about this decline for a long time, which raises the question of why the media, including the Washington Post, has shown so little interest in the issue. Many have publicly described Biden as a very astute person. …
… Finally, there is the fact that White House political and medical staff repeatedly denied any decline to the media, only for the Washington Post to now rather matter-of-factly admit that it was all a deliberate lie. This is just another shrug and whitewash in our post-truth political environment.
Turley made his remarks on his website, noting that left-leaning media and commentators have slammed any suggestion that Biden is significantly impaired cognitively or physically.
After special counsel Robert Hur revealed that he would not indict Biden for mishandling classified documents because a jury would not convict a “well-meaning old man with a short memory,” Turley noted, “the left-wing media pounced on Hur, while media figures testified to the president's insight and competence.”
Then, as video circulated showing Biden's apparent dementia and what was later described as Parkinson's disease, “virtually every news organization aired the attack, and politicians, pundits and celebrities testified that the president was alert and engaged.”
Turley repeated the absurd claim made by MSNBC's Joe Scarborough.
Play the tape right now. I'm going to tell you the truth. If you can't accept the truth, damn you. This version of Biden is the best Biden ever, intellectually and analytically. Not the second worst. I've known him for years. … I wouldn't say this if it weren't true.
The right-wing media is never right
Yes, he would say so if it weren't true. Scarborough is just one of many network commentators suffering from a severe case of Trump Derangement Syndrome.
But then the debate happened, Turley continued, which was yet another ploy to throw Biden out of the presidential race, leading the White House press corps to blame the “right-wing media” for negligence in trying to cover up Biden's decline.
“While the reporters say they 'now express regret,' CNN explains that 'some members of the White House press corps who have regular access to President Biden acknowledged that they were 'tired' of exposing his mental breakdown, given the attention it received from 'right-wing media,' before last week's debate,” Turley writes.
So the Washington Post has finally admitted that Biden is indeed a man in serious decline, and perhaps the reason they didn't admit it until now is because the “right wing media” has been saying the same thing for months.
And it is impossible that the “right-wing media” is right.
