Melissa Fleming, the UN's Under-Secretary-General for Communications, refused to answer a question from Alex Newman of The New American about the UN's partnership with Google, a partnership that Fleming had bragged about at the World Economic Forum, and which aims to silence online voices that disagree with the UN's views on issues like climate change. Ironically, Newman asked Fleming just after she had finished a panel discussion on the importance of “journalism.” Instead of answering, she hid behind her staff and spoke freely with other media, none of which were asking about issues that matter to the American public, who pay at least one-third of the UN's budget.
