People who believe in climate change should not wait for governments or the United Nations to take action, says Winfrida Shonde, CEO of Teemo Africa Ltd., and New American's Alex. told Mr. Newman. “How many COPs do we need to achieve a new climate (and) a new planet?” Shonde said after 29 years of UN summits with little success, people concerned about climate change He said there was growing tension between the two. With COP30 scheduled to be held in Brazil in 2025, many activists and delegates at COP29 in Azerbaijan are hoping for greater commitment to local action on climate change. He wants to strengthen support for “climate justice” as the United Nations falls short of its goals.
