The latest national survey by Marquette Law School on how Americans rate the Supreme Court contains some hidden gems. Despite relentless attacks on the ideology and integrity of the High Court by the lawless mainstream media, those surveyed have a growing respect and respect for the High Court. And they are enthusiastic supporters of one of the high court's most controversial and important decisions: New York State Rifle and Pistol Association v. Bruen.
This decision, along with the more recent U.S. v. Rahimi decision, temporarily deports an individual “if the individual is found by a court to pose a credible threat to the physical safety of others.” It was assumed that they could be disarmed. The Second Amendment” has wide support from those surveyed.
The pollster asked:
In 2022, the Supreme Court ruled that the Second Amendment protects an individual's right to carry a handgun outside the home for self-defense, subject to some limitations. To what extent do you agree or disagree with this decision?
70% supported the ruling, while only 30% disapproved.
big impact
This has significant future implications for the survival and health of the Second Amendment. The only way that seven out of 10 Americans surveyed could support the Bruen high court's decision would be for many Democrats to maintain this view. Jennifer Sensiba, writing for Shooting Sports Weekly, said:
This shows that gun rights are no longer a conservative or Republican issue. …There is a broad swath of the population that is not socially conservative…but they support gun rights.
This is one reason why the court has regained public support despite being under relentless attack. In the wake of the Dobbs v. Jackson Women's Medical Institution decision, the media went on and on about how the high court was taking away the right to kill a fetus in a mother's womb. The court ruled that “the Constitution does not provide a right to abortion, and the power to regulate abortion is returned to the people and their elected representatives.” In the process, two previous high court decisions, Roe v. Wade (1973) and Planned Parenthood v. Casey (1992), were overturned. These two rulings opened the door to a national holocaust. An estimated 65 million unborn children will be murdered over the next 50 years, or more than 1 million innocent humans a year.
Following the Dobbs decision, the Supreme Court's approval rating fell to 38 percent. However, it has made a remarkable comeback and its approval rating now stands at 45%. A Gallup poll puts his approval rating even higher at 48 percent.
Impact on elections
Mainstream media has been touting the Supreme Court's alleged wrong decisions and blaming President Trump's conservative appointments. But this issue is far less important to the average voter this election than immigration or the economy. Calls to expand the high court, impose term limits on its members, and revise its ethics code have fallen on deaf ears.
Mr. Marquette asked.
Just thinking about the past month, how much have you heard or read about the U.S. Supreme Court?
Only 19 percent said “often” and the remaining 20 percent said “never.”
