Chris Larsen, co-founder and executive chairman of Ripple, donated $10 million worth of XRP to Vice President Kamala Harris' campaign.
In a post on X, Larsen, who donated $1 million in XRP to the pro-Harris Future Forward Political Action Committee (PAC) in August, said he would donate another $10 million to support the Harris campaign Ta.

Larsen donated $9.9 million to Future Forward and $800,000 to the Harris Victory Fund, CNBC reported. His donation makes him one of the crypto industry's biggest donors to the 2024 election campaign.
In response to Larsen's message, Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse said on He added:
“Ripple will continue to work with both Democrats and Republicans to advance pro-crypto policies in the final days of the election campaign (and post-election). It is not a partisan line. and championing policies that promote monetary innovation.”
Increase in virtual currency donations
The cryptocurrency industry has so far contributed approximately $190 million in political contributions during the 2024 US election cycle. This is a significant increase compared to the 2020 election, when $15 million was donated. Of the $190 million, more than $130 million was spent on legislative elections.
The cryptocurrency super PAC Fairshake remains the biggest force in the election, raising more than $202 million, according to Open Secret, a research group that tracks money in U.S. politics.
Former President Donald Trump has also received significant cryptocurrency donations. In June, the Winklevoss twins transferred $2 million in Bitcoin to a US candidate, and in the same month, Jesse Powell, co-founder of cryptocurrency exchange Kraken, donated $1 million in Ethereum to the Trump campaign.
