At least some leftists who celebrated the July 13 assassination attempt on President Donald Trump on social media are regretting it.
Some have quit their jobs, been fired or suspended, including an FBI employee who took an errant “memes are money” approach.
And once again, the TikTok Libs website is responsible for dragging the crazy left out of the corner of the social media barn where they are playing.
FBI Agent
The end of FBI agent Jenna Howell's employment began when she posted a meme image of the Grim Reaper trying to pull a tiny caricature of Donald Trump out of a claw machine, The New American reported on Monday.
Former FBI agent Kyle Serafin echoed Howell's comments.
Howell also spoke to gun owners:
All you gun-toting, Second Amendment-loving rednecks out there should just sit back and shut up until they change their minds about gun control.
“FBI official Jenna Howell expressed disappointment that @realDonaldTrump survived the assassination attempt,” Seraphin wrote. “Jenna has a top secret clearance.”
Serafin called Howell “a typical FBI support agent who hates gun owners.”
She is also an ardent supporter of the lavender lobby and “is divisive and insulting to veterans with complete impunity.”
And the FBI encourages such behavior, the former agents wrote.
The next day, Seraphin reported, citing sources within the once-highly respected federal law enforcement agency, that the FBI had suspended Howell, who works in its background investigations division.
An FBI whistleblower posted:
@FBI The worst crime an employee can commit is to bring shame to the FBI. The FBI turns a blind eye to drug addicts and domestic abusers just so they don't get caught.
In response to X-users wondering whether Howell would get away with only a light suspension, Seraphin said he doesn't think she'll be returning to work.
“Her past inappropriate behavior is being reviewed,” he wrote. “This is likely to be permanent.”
Democrats suspended
Of course, Howell wasn't alone in his sentiments: TikTok Libs (LOTT) uncovered many similar sentiments from leading Democrats, teachers, professors, and even health care workers.
Mississippi Democratic Congressman Bennie Thompson fired his staffer Jacqueline Marceau for plotting to kill President Trump, and New York City Mayor Eric Adams suspended one of his top officials for similar reasons.
Shawn Raup Conservage is the mayor of Burrville, Pennsylvania. “#PennsylvaniaProud,” he wrote. “Let's try harder.”
The Reading Eagle reported that a change.org petition calling for his removal from office now has 3,700 signatures.
Teachers, counselors, civil servants
Jennifer Lipper, a teacher at Semper Elementary School in Westminster, Colorado, also wanted to assassinate President Trump.
“It seems he came very close to being removed,” she wrote.
“Dammit!!! I missed that!!” replied an equally freaked out user.
“I think that's exactly right,” she replied.
Crisis in the Classroom (CITC), a parent advocacy group in Golden, Colorado, reported that she is no longer listed on the school's website.
LOTT also exposed a North Carolina school counselor who resigned from her job, and Cass McLeod Skinner, director of the Oregon Board of Chiropractic Examiners, who also expressed disappointment that Thomas Matthew Crooks did not kill Trump.
“I wish I had a better scope,” wrote a teacher at Ardmore High School in Oklahoma.
Following LOTT’s X post, state schools chief executive Ryan Walters responded:
This is unacceptable. The SDE is investigating. Teachers will not be allowed to cheer on violence against @realDonaldTrump.
A lawyer at the Iowa Public Defender's Office will likely also lose her job. “Dammit,” she wrote after learning Trump survived. When another user called her to account, she responded: “They failed! … I'll be honest with you, I'm glad Hitler died.”
The office's director called her comments “reprehensible.”
