America's new and old presidents have ordered newly sworn-in Secretary of State Marco Rubio to put America first in all foreign policy decisions. Things are already off to a promising start. Foreign aid is suspended, DEI is kicked out of government departments, and borders are secured.
On the first day, President Trump signed an executive order (EO) entitled “America First Policy Directive for the Secretary of State.” In accordance with the instructions, from now on
U.S. foreign policy shall protect America's core interests and always put America and its people first.
Although he did not provide details, the president said the secretary of state is mandated to “align the Department's policies, programs, personnel, and operations with an America First foreign policy that puts the United States and its interests first.” Emphasized.
The Senate unanimously confirmed Rubio as secretary of state on January 20, the same day as his boss's inauguration. Mr. Trump's choice of a former Florida senator and presidential candidate for the most important diplomatic post was a relief to the establishment-minded bloc of the Republican Party. . I was disappointed in the MAGA part.
Will Rubio abandon his neocon ways?
As explained in the latest issue of TNA, few people epitomize neoconservatism more than Rubio, especially when it comes to foreign relations. Mr. Rubio's voting record shows he generally has no problem with U.S. involvement around the world. In December 2023, he voted against the return of U.S. troops to and withdrawal from Syria. Two months earlier, he had voted against withdrawing troops from Niger. Back in 2016, President Trump responded to his position that the United States gives more than it takes from its interactions with the international community by saying, “A world without American involvement is not something any of us want to live in.'' The world,” he said.
Rubio also co-sponsored a bill during Trump's first term that would make it more difficult for the president to withdraw from NATO by requiring two-thirds of the Senate to ratify the withdrawal. I hope that Mr. Trump will make the wise decision to withdraw the United States from NATO. Also, let's hope Rubio sticks around or is replaced if he thinks otherwise.
Mr. Rubio has served in the U.S. Senate for more than a decade. According to the TNA's Freedom Index, his votes were in line with the constitution, but unfortunately 66 per cent of them were in line with the constitution. Cuban-American legislators were rarely in danger of being confused with supporters of limited government. However, there is hope, or rather, a glimmer of hope. In April 2024, Mr. Rubio voted against a $95 billion foreign aid package for Ukraine, Israel, and Taiwan. He also made comments that show he agrees with President Trump that the war in Eastern Europe needs to end. Plus, he's starting to sound like a new guy as he starts his new job. On his first day as Secretary of State, Rubio addressed new State Department employees. His statement included a pledge to actually put America first.
In our republic, voters decide the course of the country, both at home and abroad. And on a very clear mission-based foreign policy, they elected Donald J. Trump as president. And their mission is to ensure that our foreign policy is focused on one thing: advancing our national interests, and through this campaign they will make our country stronger, more secure, and more prosperous. clearly defined as a thing. And that becomes our mission. It will be our job around the world to ensure that we have a foreign policy that advances America's national interests.
Rubio elaborated on what the America First standards are in a Jan. 22 press release.
Every dollar we spend, every program we fund, and every policy we pursue must be justified by answers to three simple questions: Is America Will it make America safer? Will it make America stronger? Will it make America richer?
work has started
Rubio details: securing borders, eliminating government DEI requirements and reinstating merit-based standards, tossing aside divisive cultural causes, defeating censorship, and abandoning climate change policies. He said the State Department would do its part.
On Tuesday, he met with officials from India, Japan and Australia to discuss issues in the Indo-Pacific region, which he believes China is working hard to dominate. He discussed strengthening the partnership between the US and Australia on critical minerals, how to counter the Chinese threat with Japan, and how to deepen the US-India relationship on emerging technology and defense.
In addition, the State Department and the U.S. Agency for International Development, which works under Mr. Rubio, have begun suspending foreign aid funding. This is due to an executive order signed by President Trump on Monday titled “Reassessing and Rebalancing U.S. Foreign Assistance.”
And, according to a Breitbart exclusive, Rubio plans to issue an order requiring all State Department employees to report to their offices in person.
end of american history
Since World War II, US foreign policy has been conducted in a manner consistent with empire building. The United States has approximately 800 official bases in 80 countries, with up to 200,000 U.S. military personnel stationed around the world. The United States has been involved in numerous conflicts and wars since World War II, most of which were started without Congressional approval. Additionally, U.S. intelligence agencies have carried out several regime change operations around the world, especially since the creation of the CIA.
An organization called the Council on Foreign Relations (CFR) took over American foreign policy strategy around the mid-20th century. CFR is a globalist-oriented think tank based in New York City. According to former FBI agent Dan Smoot, President Woodrow Wilson founded the organization in 1916 to “create a charter for world government,” and his book, The Invisible Government, describes the true nature of the CFR. He is said to have revealed his nature and intentions. But it wasn't until the Rockefeller and Carnegie Foundations began pouring money into CFR that it became influential. And by 1945, Smoot reported, “the Council on Foreign Relations and various foundations and other organizations linked to it had effectively taken over the U.S. State Department.” As noted in the June 7, 2021 issue of TNA, the first non-CFR secretaries of state since Henry Stimson under President Herbert Hoover are Rex Tillerson and Mike, who served in the first Trump administration. Pompeo was the only one.
Mr. Rubio is not a CFR member, but neither are Mr. Tillerson and Mr. Pompeo.
