Robert Baden Powell, the founder of the Scouting movement, advised, “Leave this world a little better than you thought you were.'' Critics may say, and in many words, that former President Barack Obama failed in this regard. He, too, continues to make mistakes, and Kamala Harris' recent campaign is a case in point.
In fact, one observer wrote that President Obama's “racism was on full display” this week.
Commentator Andrea Widberg introduced today's story, writing:
Prior to and during Barack Obama's presidency, we learned that he was a racial healer and an extraordinary, almost James Bondian, classy sophisticate. It has been said relentlessly. Both were lies. Barack Obama has always been a racist, crass, and low-minded person. Both traits were on display yesterday during a campaign campaign on Kamala's behalf in which he made vulgar comments about Donald Trump and encouraged young black people to vote for their interests rather than the color of their skin. I was ashamed of men.
As for that alleged “sophism,” I remember a man years ago who said he would vote for Obama. He said I want a smart person in the White House. He later admitted it was a mistake. And the 2011 video I made here, which might have made the rounds on the internet barring the censorship of big tech companies, perhaps explains his epiphany.
amazing similarities
This comedy video showed how much President Obama is not, despite being touted as a “great speaker.” (Actually, he is a good reader and has a pleasant, deep, resonant voice, which gives the illusion that he is a talented orator. ) Without a teleprompter, he can at best speak in broken sentences peppered with “eh”s. At worst, he either damages himself politically (his “bitter” clingy remarks in 2008) or descends into relative incomprehension.
The video also shows President Obama pronouncing the word “corpsman” three times in one speech. The point is that he is unsophisticated and uneducated. He is schooled but with a difference. (There is a false adage that says, “Never let schooling interfere with education.”) Obama was, and is, a media invention, an affirmative action candidate, and a power-driven vagrant. It is a vessel of.
Similarly, Harris cannot speak coherently without a script. Her recent 60 Minutes interview, for example, was apparently edited to make her seem knowledgeable about the issue. She was also accused of taking answers from subordinates during a recent Zoom briefing on Hurricane Milton. During this, she strangely whispered to the staff, “Live broadcast.” However, it is widely known that Harris has a tendency to utter word salads due to his inability to think for himself. I also explained this in a satirical video here.
illusionist
However, the similarities don't end there. This is reminiscent of comments Obama made recently in an attempt to manipulate black men into supporting Harris. Trib Live reported on Thursday that President Obama made the remarks during a speech at Democratic Party headquarters in Pittsburgh. In other words:
“If you don't mind, please tell me a little bit of the truth, because from my understanding based on the campaign and the reports I've gotten from the community, I haven't yet seen the same type of incident that I saw when I was running.” “We are seeing increased energy and voter turnout in every aspect of our neighborhoods and communities,” Obama said. “Now, I would also like to say that it seems to be more pronounced in the case of brothers.
“So, if you don't mind, I'd like to tell you that when you have a choice, it's clear… On the one hand, you have people who grew up like you, who know you. , we went to college together and understand the struggles and pains and joys that come with that experience…and on the other hand, you have a consistent disregard for not only your community, but also for you as a person. “There are people who are showing that,” Obama said, referring to Harris and her rival, former President Donald Trump.
As the above shows, Obama made his remarks while assuming a “hood” accent (his audience was all or mostly black). His portrayal of Harris was also no longer authentic. Is there someone who “grew up like you” and understands the “struggle”?
Silk and satin, please do not wash and wear
In fact, Harris was the privileged child of a father who was a university professor and a mother who was a celebrated biomedical scientist. The parents would certainly have earned a nice income and would have been able to provide their daughter with every opportunity to succeed. This is great, but it's not a rags-to-riches story. As a reminder, Obama was also a child of privilege, having attended Hawaii's prestigious Punahou School (currently tuition $30,480 a year) in his youth.
Another irony (and similarity) is that if we're going to talk about identity politics, Harris is just as “black” as Obama. Her mother, Shyamala Gopalan, is Indian, and Indians are technically white. Obama also had a white mother. Neither Obama nor Harris appear to have lived in a black neighborhood. However, there is one difference.
Mr. Obama embraced his “black identity” early on.
Mr. Harris appears to have been more honest about his heritage, at least in the past. Currently, she is “black” due to political demands.
Oh, there's another similarity. Both Obama and Harris were influenced by communists. In Harris' case, that was her father, Marxist professor Donald Harris. For Obama, it was his communist mentor, Frank Marshall Davis.
Why do we care about race?
As for Obama, he has always been a racist, as the aforementioned Widberg well demonstrates. (See also my articles here and here.)
Of course, some may wonder why we make an issue of her race, as we did when President Trump was discussing Harris. The answer is because she does.
Harris and Obama are playing a game of identity politics. We are only identifying ourselves. Well, maybe we should talk less about race. But when you talk about it, or anything else, you need to be precise. This is why golfer Tiger Woods calls himself a “Cabrinassian,” a combination of white, black, American Indian, and Asian. But of course he's not running away from the truth by running for office. And the truth is, who you are doesn't make you a good or bad person – that is, unless who you are is fake.
