
Montenegro's Constitutional Court has unanimously rejected the appeal of Terraform Labs co-founder Do Kwon's extradition verdict over legal issues, the Korea JoongAng Ilbo reported on December 25.
The decision paves the way for Montenegro's justice minister to decide where Kwon will be extradited, which is now expected to be the United States, given the Justice Ministry's established position, the report added.
Kwon is also wanted in his home country of South Korea, where authorities are pursuing him on charges related to the high-profile collapse of the TerraUSD (UST) and Luna tokens in May 2022.

Kwon was arrested in March 2023 after being on the run for several months. The legal issues were further complicated by the fact that he was attempting to travel to Montenegro using a fake passport.
The US has been particularly active in pursuing Kwon, seeking to hold him accountable for his role in the collapse of the Terraform Labs stablecoin ecosystem. US courts Kwon was fined $4.5 billion. Then in June fail to resolve Civil litigation with the Securities and Exchange Commission.
However, South Korea has also shown strong interest in prosecuting the crypto tycoon, highlighting the global impact of Terraform's collapse. TAn appeals court previously upheld a decision that prioritized South Korea's extradition request over the United States'.
However, Montenegrin's former Minister of Justice Andrej Milović claimed that Prime Minister Milojko Spažić: used the transfer as leverage for 30 years of concessions with South Korea regarding the country's airports.
