Michael Novogratz’s Galaxy Digital (GLXY) has hired former Point72 chief financial officer Anthony Paquette to fill the same role at the cryptocurrency financial services company.
The company announced in a statement Friday that he will succeed Alex Ioffe, who will transition to a senior advisory role.
Mr. Puckett previously spent four years as CFO at Steve Cohen's hedge fund Point72, where he led the firm's global treasury, treasury and broker relations. Prior to that, he worked at SoFi, JP Morgan Chase, and Bank of America.
“Our reputation as a world-class operator and investor in digital assets, digital infrastructure and other emerging technologies precedes Galaxy,” Paquette said in a press release. “I look forward to expanding Galaxy's best-in-class finance team and helping to further strengthen the company's position as a preeminent leader in the industry.”
Galaxy Digital CEO Mike Novogratz thanked Ioffe for building a strong financial team and preparing the company for a potential U.S. listing.
The Toronto-listed company has been seeking a U.S. listing for some time through a Nasdaq listing. However, it is still awaiting Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) approval to move its headquarters from the Cayman Islands to Delaware, which it filed for in February 2023.
