Metaplanet will begin purchasing Bitcoin as a strategic financial reserve in May 2024
Tokyo-listed companies currently hold 1,761.98 Bitcoins
The company's Bitcoin yield reached 310% from October 1, 2024 to December 23, 2024, and 41% from July 1, 2024 to September 2024.
Metaplanet is on a mission to increase the number of Bitcoin holdings to 10,000 by 2025, leveraging partnerships to increase Bitcoin adoption around the world.

Purchase Bitcoin
Since May 2024, Metaplanet has been acquiring Bitcoin at a stable rate as a strategic financial reserve. In June, he bought $6.2 million worth of Bitcoin. This was followed by a $2.5 million Bitcoin purchase in July, a $7 million Bitcoin purchase in October, and another $11.7 million in November.
The most recent Bitcoin purchase was in late December, totaling 620 Bitcoins for $60 million. So far, Metaplanet has 1,761.98. In comparison, MicroStrategy holds 447,470 Bitcoins, with the most recent purchase amounting to $101 million at the end of December 2024.
According to Metaplanet's Dec. 23 notice, its Bitcoin yield reached nearly 310% between Oct. 1, 2024 and Dec. 23, 2024. By comparison, Bitcoin's yield reached 41% between July 1, 2024 and September 30, 2024.
In addition to increasing its Bitcoin holdings, Gerovich said Metaplanet is exploring “innovative opportunities to expand Metaplanet's influence in Japan and the Bitcoin ecosystem. He added that he is focused on building partnerships to “advance the adoption of Bitcoin.” ”
