Over the past half-century, the U.S. federal government has created at least a dozen new agencies out of thin air, including the Department of Education, the Department of Energy, and even FEMA. These government agencies impose more debt and more intrusive regulations on taxpayers. But now there is some hope that this trend may be reversed. Those associated with the incoming Trump administration have publicly announced that they are trying to eliminate entire government agencies.
