Commissioner Perth wants a government that serves Americans and does not stop others from trying new things that are often referred to as “cryptomamas.”
SEC Commissioner Hester Peirce says it's “very frustrating” to see what's going on with the code when people want to try something new.
In an interview with Bloomberg, the newly appointed Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) cryptographic task force stated:
“To see what happened to Crypto over the past few years has been extremely frustrating for anyone who believes the government is there to serve the people of America.

The Cryptocurrency Task Force aims to provide regulatory clarity to the crypto industry. The agency also plans to work with other agencies, including the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) to achieve its goals.
It's not free
Commissioner Perth, often referred to as a “crypto mom,” said he was calling himself a “liberty maximalist,” rather than an industry advocate.
When asked as a liberal maximalist, she was asked if she believed the crypto industry should be regulated, Perth stated that she was committed to using the existing statutory framework. “It doesn't mean everyone. It doesn't mean you can do whatever you want. There are rules in place and these rules are in place.”
At the same time, Peirce adds that US regulations are designed to have basic parameters, and people can “have the greatest freedom to innovate and try new things… There are people who will bring responsibility and understand that if something goes wrong, you will not inevitably run.”
