Firearm sales surged again in September, according to the Firearms Industry and Trade Federation (NSSF, formerly the National Shooting Sports Foundation). The FBI reports that violent crime fell sharply last year to levels not seen since 2017.
The obvious link is that increased private ownership of firearms in this country has led to a decrease in crime.
“Adjusted numbers for NICS background checks, the best indicator of gun sales in the United States, have increased over the past three months,” the NSSF reported Wednesday. That's not surprising as the November election draws ever closer. Mark Oliva of NSSF said:
The vice presidential debate provided a substantive examination of why millions of Americans continue to legally purchase firearms each month. Americans are concerned about the safety of themselves and their loved ones. They (refuse) to be painted with the thick brush that gun control advocates use to paint in the same pattern as criminals.
In fact, Americans face a stark difference between the two tickets when it comes to respecting the constitutional right to keep and bear arms. America proves, month after month, that legal gun ownership is important.
More guns means less crime
In September, the FBI reported that the nation's homicide rate last year fell at the fastest pace in history. This is consistent with the fact that 29 states in the country currently allow “constitutional carry,” the carrying of concealed firearms without a permit from the government.
Statistician Jeff Asher commented on the numbers released by the FBI:
The decline in homicides is the largest annual decline on record, surpassing the 9.1 percent decline in 1996. The decline in homicides in 2023, combined with the previously significant decline in 2024, indicates that homicides are declining at a pace never before recorded (in the United States). ).
The 3 percent decrease in reported violent crimes brought the national violent crime rate (363.8 per 100,000 people) to the highest reported since the early 1970s, on par with 2014 (363.6 per 100,000 people). This is the lowest level of violent crime.
This reflects the fact that the number of homicides in the country in 2023 was 2,500 fewer than the previous year. And rape, property crimes and other violent crimes committed last year were down from the year before. And Asher says that trend will continue until 2024.
This obvious link between increased firearm ownership and decreased violent crime didn't catch Dave Workman's attention. Writing in Ammoland, Workman said: “The FBI's 2023 National Crime Report shows a record decline in homicides in a year in which the number of states adopting so-called 'constitutional carry' increased to 29, making it less popular and patently false. — The anti-gun lobby claims that more guns means more crime.”
Harris Agenda
Kamala Harris, as a “gun owner”, is ready to shoot any intruder (who might even manage to get by the armed Secret Service agents who are on duty 24/7 around her compound). So she continues to push the story that she has no plans for forfeiture.
But the willfully tone-deaf Marxist has made it clear what he plans to do if by some chance (or fraud) he wins the White House. Her intentions are clearly spelled out by the anti-gun, anti-freedom news site The Trace.
As commander in chief, Harris is likely to push for expanded background checks for all gun purchases and reinstatement of the federal assault weapons ban.
It could also pursue tighter regulations on ghost guns, high-capacity ammunition magazines, and bump stocks.
Selwyn Duke, writing in The New American, reminded readers that while Harris was San Francisco district attorney, she sponsored Proposition H, which prohibited city residents from possessing, distributing, and manufacturing handguns.
The Washington Examiner reported that during her stillborn 2020 presidential campaign, Harris promised to “give Congress 100 days” to pass the gun control agenda she wanted. If not, he reminded readers that he would enact the agenda himself through executive order.
Her agenda has nothing to do with improving safety or reducing crime. It is the same as all Marxist dictators: disarm everyone.
