Still, Kaplan noted that FTX was one of the largest financial frauds in U.S. history, and cooperation wouldn't keep Ellison from going to prison. “I don't see how you can get away with a literal 'get out of jail' card in a case as serious as this,” Kaplan said, calling for Ellison to stand up and accept his 24-month sentence. Because the crime is federal, Ellison will serve at least 75% of his sentence before he's eligible for parole.
