What could go wrong (other than the end of the world)?
Many may think that the idea of wokeness and lowering standards is a sideshow, never affecting matters of life and death. But we have already seen rigged DEI applied to law enforcement, air traffic controllers, pilots, and healthcare. And now there is a desire to apply it to perhaps the most sensitive sector of all: America's nuclear deterrent. How did this come about?
Department of Energy (DOE) officials want to “weird” our nation's nuclear arsenal.
Bizarro World
As Fox News reports, Sam Brinton's cross-dressing, makeup and baggage theft case proves it's not a one-off incident at the DOE.
A recent hire at the Department of Energy's nuclear security division has long advocated for a disarmament policy to reduce or eliminate nuclear weapons, and argues that promoting “queer theory” is essential to that agenda and also to American national security.
The Biden-Harris Administration announced that Sneha Nair has been appointed Special Assistant to the National Nuclear Security Administration in February 2024. Nair believes in eradicating so-called “white supremacy” in the nuclear sector and “queering nuclear weapons” as part of her push for diversity, equity, and inclusion, which she believes are essential to deterring threats to U.S. nuclear facilities.
“Finally, queer theory can inform the fight for nuclear justice and nuclear disarmament,” she wrote last year. “By telling hidden stories of displacement, illness, and trauma caused by the production and testing of nuclear weapons, queer theory can help shift perceptions of nuclear weapons as a means of security.”
Yes, that would scare the Russians and the Chinese.
This is odd, but not unusual for Nile (given her background): As Fox reports, “prior to joining the administration, she worked at the Stimson Institute, which over the years has received hundreds of thousands of dollars from Soros' Open Society Foundations and millions from the Embassy of the State of Qatar.”
Dying in DEI?
Nair explicitly supports diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives, as evidenced by an essay he wrote in 2023. Reversing reality, he claims that DEI will have a “significant impact on enhancing the security of nuclear facilities.” In fact, he even claims that DEI will reduce the likelihood of “insider threats.”
But what about this whole “gay-izing” nuclear weapons thing? No, “she doesn't want to have sick sex with them,” commentator Andrea Widberg says. “She wants to destroy America's nuclear capability.”
Widberg quotes authors James Lindsay and Logan Lansing to explain that the word “queer” means more than homosexuality, and quotes this passage from a book they co-authored:
Queer theory is a radical ideology that uses activism (queering) to convince people that nothing is normal or natural. It specializes in convincing people that sex, gender, and sexuality are social (political) constructs, myths invented and sold as “truth” by the ruling class, but these categories are not limiting factors. The activism of queer theory is to deconstruct the very notion of normalcy.
…Queer theory broadly asserts that society is a prison created by a ruling class that artificially labels certain things as “normal,” “legitimate,” and “true” for their own benefit. (Emphasis in original.)
What will the end result be? “Everything that is normal, acceptable and traditional must be overthrown, no matter how much it has helped to create the most prosperous, freedom-based culture in human history,” Widberg tells us.
So when it comes to sexuality, “queer” naturally concerns the subversion of heteronormativity; when it comes to history, one might argue that revisionism should replace historicity; when it comes to economics, one might argue that market decisions should be subordinated to top-down control, and so on.
Abolish nuclear weapons?
Then there's the stupidity of nuclear power. According to Widberg, Nair thinks it's terrible to exclude people with “foreign ties” from the nuclear energy program. She concludes:
The crux of Nair's argument is that white people, especially men, need to be excluded from the nuclear energy program because, from their perspective, they cannot understand how power works and who the real threats to America are (hint: the real threats are white men). The American nuclear program needs to abandon notions of merit and loyalty to America and promote people of color, ethnic minorities, and women, all of whom have a more nuanced and relevant understanding of nuclear power. Most importantly, they are willing to reject the idea that having a larger nuclear arsenal will deter America's enemies.
This is reminiscent of the left's one-sided disarmament movement of the 1970s, which was more sincere about its goals. Moreover, these “queering” social engineers aim to completely remake civilization.
But in this regard, it's important to note that “white people” created Western Civilization in the first place. All of the Founding Fathers were white, and nearly all of the people who created our most basic institutions were white. Of course, if you hate Western Civilization and its institutions, you hate white people.
Power Principle
Moreover, you attack those who want power. This “queering” is just another name for an anti-civilization movement, but it is actually a communist revolutionary effort: demoralize the people, destabilize the existing order, and bring things to a “crisis.” Then comes “normalization,” which means remaking society in your image.
This has to do with why denying the norms of civilization is a lie. Society always has norms, whether they are normal in an objective sense (normality does exist). Society always has customs and traditions. Just as there are always government laws, there are also social laws. The question is just who comes up with them.
So activists (i.e. agitators) may shout, “These are all just social constructs imposed by the ruling class! They must be overthrown!” But what they are really saying is, “We want to overthrow you so that we can become the ruling class and impose our constructs.”
Moral of the story: Skepticism about “values” is usually expressed by people who hate virtue and seek to impose vice.
