Crypto Custody Firm Copper has hired Tammy Weinrib as new Chief Compliance Director and Banking Secrets Act (BSA) officer, the company said in a press release Monday.
Weinrib will lead the company's license drive in the US market and will be part of New York-based Copper's executive team.
Her employment is part of the copper expansion in the United States, following the appointment of Amarcchinado as global CEO last October.
Weinrib was previously employed as Chief Compliance Officer and BSA Officer at Binance.us. Prior to this, she worked for Crypto Exchange Gemini.
She enjoyed a traditional finance career before joining Crypto, winning stints at Wall Street Bank City (c), Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS) and Standard Chartered (STAN).
“Her appointment takes an important step to accelerate our growth strategy and expand our services to traditional finance,” said Amal Kuchinado, global CEO of Copper.
Copper said in December it had withdrawn its application to be registered with the UK financial services regulator.
The decision was part of the company's strategic shift to focus on markets such as the US, Europe and the Middle East.
