Will we ever see the light of day between an accredited communist and a Democratic Party? The New American compared the platform of the Communist Party of the United States (CPUSA) with the position of the Democratic Party.
The first issue mentioned in the Communists' 2024 platform is one close to the Democratic Party, and one of the few that Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris has not publicly backed away from. Communists declare, “We oppose the Supreme Court's decision and support Congress and the President enacting Roe v. Wade into law to restore the people's right to choose.''
This is exactly the Democratic Party's position. Last week, Harris said in an interview with Wisconsin Public Radio that she believes the filibuster should be abolished to codify abortion into federal law. This sentiment has been expressed numerous times by various members of the Democratic Party, including President Joe Biden.
Communists also advocate a government takeover of health care. “We believe that health care is a right,” CPUSA says. “We need Medicare for All health care, free for all Americans.”
During her failed 2020 presidential bid, Harris supported the Medicare for All bill introduced by Bernie Sanders, an avowed socialist. Of course, Democrats also passed Obamacare, further increasing government participation in health care while making private health care more difficult to access. It's no secret that Democrats believe in full government control over health care, despite comments from Harris, who has recently upended almost every major position she has held over the years.
“Climate crisis” is a theme that communists and Democrats alike shout loudly.
“Climate change is one of the most pressing issues of our time, affecting every aspect of the environment and human life,” CPUSA says. “We are committed to delivering an urgent economic package that focuses on climate action: net-zero emissions and renewable energy, green jobs, social equity, modern infrastructure, and ending dependence on fossil fuels. , requires legislative and regulatory changes.”
Here's what the 2024 Democratic Party Platform says about climate change.
“Across the country, Americans are experiencing the dire effects of climate change…The climate crisis is an existential threat to future generations who deserve better. President Biden is the most aggressive Implementing climate change policy.”
The only difference is that one is a call to action and the other boasts of something that has already been done. Democrats are ahead of Communists.
Democrats and Communists also agree that they support mob rule.
In 2020, the Washington Post asked all Democratic presidential primary candidates whether they supported abolishing the electoral college system and replacing it with the national popular vote. A majority of those, 15 out of 26, said yes, and three, including Kamala Harris, said they were open to the idea.
Democrats and Communists advocate “democracy,” or majority rule, especially when it comes to elections. “It is essential to introduce new universal suffrage laws and procedures to ensure free and fair elections with one person, one vote,” CPUSA says.
They also support statehood for Washington, D.C., voting by mail, and ending the filibuster completely.
There is no difference between the two when it comes to mass migration. Communists want “progressive legislation that creates a path to citizenship for as many people as possible as quickly as possible.” It also calls for “the United States to end its current brutal arrests and deportations,” while also “providing easy access to U.S. citizenship and opposing guest worker programs.”
As with all issues except abortion, Ms. Harris recently reversed her position on open borders. Nevertheless, Democrats have vehemently advocated for pardons for decades, and Harris is likely taking a politically expedient position that she has no intention of implementing as president. The New York Times noted this apparent change in direction in a Sept. 27 article titled, “Harris on the Border Signs Deployment of Democratic Hardline on Immigration.”
“Just one presidential election cycle ago, Harris and most of the other candidates in the party's primaries had promised to decriminalize illegal border crossings,” she said Friday in the Arizona border town of Douglas. Harris' remarks set forth a vision that reveals how the party and the nation continue to retreat from America's long-held promise to escape poverty and protect the desperate. “Violence abroad is prohibited even if you enter the country,” the Times reported.
Both Communists and Democrats are obsessed with raising taxes. The CPUSA platform calls for raising the top corporate tax rate from 21% to 90%, a far cry from the 28% that Harris has publicly proposed, but both parties are in general agreement on the rate hike. There is. Furthermore, the crux of the problem is that Democrats and Communists have always agreed to collect more taxes from producers and transfer them to the Hill who runs the country. Both are passionate believers in market intervention. Both men claim that tax increases only affect the “rich,” but in reality it is the middle class who bear the brunt of these disastrous economic policies.
Speaking of destructive fiscal policies, the CPUSA platform advocates a $25 federal minimum wage, similar to past efforts by Democratic lawmakers to raise it to $15 an hour. are not the same. In California, a recent minimum wage increase caused some restaurants to close immediately. If the Democrats have their way, that's what's in store for all of America.
There appears to be little difference between the Democratic Party and the Communist Party of the United States. Those who have argued that the former was succeeded by the latter have a strong case. Furthermore, even before the overt agreement on policy, the two parties were already strongly aligned ideologically. Both have long believed in the supremacy of the state in all matters. Both are led by people who believe that rights come from government, not God. Both believe that “the ends justify the means” even when violence is involved. Both believe in exercising federal control over law enforcement. And both bring mayhem, poverty, and destruction of the human spirit wherever people have established them.
