Two leaders of an international breastfeeding advocacy group, including its 94-year-old co-founder, have resigned, citing the group's takeover by transgender “enthusiasts.”
Marian Thompson, who co-founded La Leche League International (LLL) with six other women, left the organization earlier this month. Thompson wrote that it “ended up being a travesty of my original intentions.”
Similarly, La Leche League of Great Britain (LLLGB) board member Miriam Mayne has also submitted her resignation. She is leaving what she calls “a complete departure from LLL's philosophy and mission, led by a group of enthusiasts within the organization.”
radical change
The nonprofit LLL was founded in Illinois in 1956 to advocate and support breastfeeding mothers. This was a time when most American babies were bottle-fed. Since then, it has grown into an international organization with affiliates in approximately 90 countries.
Of course, from 1956 until this century, everyone understood that only women could bear and breastfeed babies. However, with the rise of trance cults, this scientifically accurate understanding is bound to be replaced by the absurd and harmful concept that men can also give birth and produce milk.
In his resignation letter, Mr. Thompson made the following accusations:
LLL is an organization with a special mission to help biological women who want to give their babies the best start in life through breastfeeding. It subtly shifts focus to include men who want the experience of raising children. A long-term study of male breastfeeding and how it affects babies.
This shift from following natural norms, which is the core of motherhood through breastfeeding, to indulging in adult fantasies is destroying our organization.
Ms. Thomson concluded that “it became clear that there was nothing I could do to change this trajectory by remaining involved,” and she was leaving. However, she “left the door open for La Leche League to return when it returns to its original mission and purpose.”
I got lost in the translation
Mayne also said the takeover of Trance happened gradually but inexorably. “I have noticed that in LLL publications and materials, ‘mother’ is replaced with ‘parent’, ‘breastfeeding’ is replaced with ‘chest feeding’, and women are always referred to as ‘breastfeeding families’. ,” she wrote.
A look at LLL's website confirms this. The group's website says it supports “mothers and caregivers.” This is as if there is any difference between the two when it comes to breastfeeding. There’s also an entire page dedicated to “Support for Transgender and Nonbinary Parents.”
“Trans men, trans women, and non-binary individuals may choose to breastfeed or not breastfeed their babies,” the page says. The article quotes at length “Trevor McDonald, a retired Canadian LLL leader and father of a transgender person.” The site promotes treatments such as hormones and drugs to help trans women produce breast milk. We link to a variety of external pro-trans websites, including our own “Queer and Genderqueer Inclusive LLL Facebook Group.” The site also warns that “you may notice sexist language” in some of the other informational links on the page.
Mayne claimed that “leaders who raised concerns about the clarity of language…were ridiculed and abused.” moreover:
We started being told that as an inclusive organization, we had to welcome transgender-identifying men who wanted to breastfeed to our meetings. Subsequently, leaders began to express legitimate concerns about security issues. For example, the physical safety of babies being breastfed by men. The social and physiological safety of mothers being separated from their babies so that men can breastfeed. The psychological safety of women in a room with men. The need for privacy for women with certain religious beliefs. When we raised these concerns, we were called transphobic and compared to racists and Nazis by other leaders.
Transmogrified beyond recognition
Mr. Mayne's claims are supported by the fact that last spring, officials at LLL's U.S. headquarters suspended six LLLGB board members for refusing to admit biological males to the program. “Continuing to promote LLL as an organization that excludes people is undermining LLL's credibility,” the official claimed.
One LLLGB leader told the Telegraph:
Many breastfeeding advocates like myself are completely disappointed that our charity work has become sidetracked by an obsession with sex and gender issues. In the latest judgment, we were informed that our charity is “not a monosexual charity and cannot be a homosexual charity”.
We were already informed that the word “mother” could be a “disorder.” Any attempt to question or debate these positions will be severely criticized as “toxic.”
A Trustee spokesperson told the newspaper: “Pressure to abandon mother-only breastfeeding services has increased internationally in LLL in recent years as the gender identity movement gains momentum.” . “We are now at a stage where group leaders around the world are being told they must support 'male breastfeeding'.”
Well, maybe not all over the world. The Telegraph said LLL “allows groups in countries that do not recognize transgender rights, including many Muslims, to exclude biological men.”
But in countries where trans cults have a foothold, everyone must comply with their demands.
Maya Forstater, from British activist group Sex Matters, told the Telegraph: “It is unfortunate that men are being asked to join charities that do so much valuable work supporting mothers to breastfeed.'' ” he said. “The work of the Federation of La Leche has nothing to do with identity and everything to do with human biology.”
