CleanSpark announced in a press release on Thursday that it has acquired Wyoming's first bitcoin mining site.
The company has signed contracts for 75 megawatts of power, with the first site expecting 30 megawatts to be operational by the end of 2024.
The second site will add an additional 45 MW to CleanSpark's Wyoming hashrate.
CleanSpark announced that it has signed a 75-megawatt power contract and acquired a new 30-megawatt bitcoin mining site in Cheyenne, Wyoming, adding to its growing power generation capacity.
This is the company's first facility at the location, and when operational, CleanSpark announced that it will add over 2 exahashes per second to the Nasdaq-listed BTC miner's hashrate. press release.
Meanwhile, the company is also eyeing a second site in the region, closing a real estate deal that will add another 45 MW to its Wyoming operations. Once this second site comes online, it will increase CleanSpark's hashrate by 3 EH/s.
First site operations expected by year-end
The Cheyenne facility will be the second fully immersion-cooled facility in the company's growing portfolio, according to CleanSpark, which expects to be operational by the end of the year.

CleanSpark plans to work with local, state and national leaders to expand beyond Cheyenne and throughout the beautiful state of Wyoming,” CleanSpark CEO Zach Bradford said in a statement.
CleanSpark will be deploying the new S21 Immersion XP at the new site, leveraging the latest in Bitcoin mining machinery. The XP is currently the most powerful and efficient BTC mining machine available.
CleanSpark recently acquired GRIID Infrastructure
With the addition of Wyoming, CleanSpark now operates in three states. The company's portfolio includes data centers in Georgia, Mississippi and Wyoming, as well as co-location locations in Tennessee and New York.
The company also announced the acquisition of Tennessee-based mining company GRIID Infrastructure.
If the all-stock deal, worth $155 million at the time, goes through, CleanSpark would add about 100 MW of power in 2024. The company aims to reach 200 MW at its Tennessee facility by the end of next year and 400 MW by the end of 2026.
CleanSpark is one of several US-based bitcoin mining companies that recently met with former US President Donald Trump, with the 2024 presidential candidate saying America needs to be at the forefront of BTC mining.
President Trump also spoke at the Bitcoin 2024 conference in Nashville, Tennessee in late July.
